I am so stressed and tired??? really anxious…?
I am a freshman in college right now.. I am very feeling stressed and anxious. I just feel like I have so much on my shoulders right now… All I feel like I have time for is studying for school.. I am making pretty good grades though.. I just cried really hard this afternoon.. I take medicine for petit mal seizures.. I was out of the medication two days ago and the insurance company( stupid Blue Cross blue shield) is saying that it is not time for it to be refilled… I am pretty pissed.. I also feel like no understands me especially my family… I do not know what to do.. ????????
You might want to look into the counseling your school offers, as most colleges have free counselors for their students, for just this purpose. I know at my school, the people there are familiar with the way the pressures of this stage of life can wear on a person, and how certain circumstances can make it especially difficult, beyond what the majority experiences…I know when I tried to tell my family I was really struggling, all I got back was “Everyone is stressed by school! It’s no big deal.” But it was a big deal, it became a big deal, I was really suffering.
I would advise you to be sure not to take on more than you can handle, consider making time to relax a priority. Also, you’d be amazed to see how good, consistent sleep can help ground you physically and psychologically, so that you have a much more clear mind and a more stable ability to deal with daily stresses. And of course, a wholesome diet with plenty of lean protein along with regular exercise (whether it be intensive, mild, or moderate) will help regulate your body’s blood levels and etc etc other chemicals, so that you are more stable and steady — These physical things DIRECTLY affect your mental state. It’s easy to underestimate them as allies or foes.
But, again, I think you should seek help from a counselor if possible. When it comes to things like stress and anxiety you are stuck in your own mind, and outside help is very beneficial if not sometimes necessary to help you handle.
And assuming you may be getting some feedback from your family similar to what I have experienced with mine, let me be a voice to say the way you are feeling is a big deal; when your quality of life is effected it’s time to take action. You do NOT have continue to suffer this, and it’s not something you’ll just grow out of. You should handle it now, and you have valid reason to do so.
